“The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content” error while uploading media on WordPress may occur due to 2 reasons.
- Permission
- Storage Limit
Firstly to resolve, “The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content” we will need to change the permission of wp-content folder to 0755. Follow below steps to change permission.
- Login to your cpanel: https://yoursite.com/cpanel.
- Go to > File Manager in cpanel.
- Go to > Public > wp-content > (Right click on the wp-content folder and change permission to 0755).
- Save and check.

If above is not the case for you and the permissions are correct then your account quota might be exceeded and you might need to your service provider to increase the storage limit.
