QuickSight let us easily create and publish interactive BI dashboards that include Machine Learning-powered insights. QuickSight dashboards can be accessed from any device, and seamlessly embedded into our applications, portals, and websites.

QuickSight is serverless and can automatically scale to tens of thousands of users without any infrastructure to manage or capacity to plan for. It is also the first BI service to offer pay-per-session pricing, where we only pay when our users access their dashboards or reports, making it cost-effective for large scale deployments.

Benefits

Scale from tens to tens of thousands of users

Amazon QuickSight has a serverless architecture that automatically scales to tens of thousands of users without the need to setup, configure, or manage our own servers. It also ensures that our users donโ€™t have to deal with slow dashboards during peak-hours, when multiple BI users are accessing the same dashboards or datasets. And with a pay-per-session pricing, we only pay when our users access the dashboards or reports, which makes it cost-effective for deployments with lots of users. There are no upfront costs or annual commitments for using QuickSight.

Embed BI dashboards in our applications

With QuickSight, we can quickly embed interactive dashboards into our applications, websites, and portals. QuickSight provides a rich set of APIs and SDKs that allow us to easily customize the look and feel of the dashboards to match applications. With QuickSight, we can manage our dashboard versions, grant dashboard authoring privileges, and share usage reports with our end-customers. If our application is used by customers that belong to different teams or organizations, QuickSight ensures that their data is always siloed and secure.

Access deeper insights with Machine Learning

QuickSight leverages AWSโ€™s proven machine learning (ML) capabilities , making it easy for BI teams to perform advanced analytics (for e.g., what-if analyses, anomaly detection, ML-based forecasting, churn prediction etc.) without prior data science experience. We can use QuickSightโ€™s pre-built models or bring our own ML models from Amazon SageMaker, which integrate with QuickSight in a few clicks. QuickSight also uses ML to automatically generate a summary of our dashboard in plain language, which interprets and describes key insights from our data, so everyone has a consistent and shared understanding.

Ask questions of our data, receive answers

With QuickSight, we can quickly get answers to business questions asked in natural language. Previously, to get answers for such questions, business users relied on BI teams to update data models and dashboards, which would take several weeks to complete. But with QuickSightโ€™s new ML-powered natural language query capability, Q, we simply use plain English and enter the question in the search bar (for e.g., what is the year-over-year sales trend?) and get answers in seconds. Q extracts business terminologies and intent from usersโ€™ questions, retrieves the corresponding data from the source, and returns the answer as a number, chart, or table.

Embedded Analytics

Seamlessly embed the ability to both view and author dashboards within our applications.

ML Insights

Summarize our business metrics in plain language or use machine learning to predict outcomes such as anomaly detection or forecasting without prior data science experience.
